Happy Birthday! Plus a dessert contest.

I won’t talk about it for long, but this week marks an important milestone for us. We officially launched A Food Coma on October 1, 2008, after many weeks of writing, designing and cooking.
On the day before launch, we stayed up all night – Brandon at his desk, tweaking wayward coding and fixing the technical stuff, and me behind him in the comfy Ikea chair, concentrating deeply on my articles. We would replay this scene many times over the coming year; it’s a happy thought to look back on while we’re currently separated by time zones and oceans.
But we made it a long way this year, from this to this!
To celebrate, we’d like to host a contest. The rules are simple: submit your best dessert recipes and then we’ll all take a vote. The entries with the most amount of votes will get a fabulous prize!
THE THEME: CINNAMON AND NUTMEG.
A delicious, warm, spicy combination. All entries must use one of these spices, or both.
And the prize?
Copies of Best Food Writing 2009, which will be released on November 10, and Digital Food Photography by Lou Manna. Prizes will be shipped directly from Amazon. I’ve heard great things about both and hope you like them!
