A nice surprise

While I was recovering from a horrifying back injury last week, something arrived in the mail from a secret admirer.

Hrmm…what is this?

OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS IS THIS WHAT I THINK THIS IS?!

Is this not the cutest thing you have ever seen?!

My very first Le Creuset. I couldn’t be happier.

It’s a teeny little stoneware casserole dish – just like the larger versions, but miniature. As someone who typically abhors all things heart-shaped and/or romantic and/or impractical  - this can stay. It’s adorable. That’s all there is to it.

I can bake things in it, serve little meals in it, let it sit on my desk so all my coworkers are envious…the possibilities, man, the possibilities! As soon as Lent is over, I’m thinking dessert for one, every night? Yessss.

What should I make in it? Leave me some suggestions in the comments.

You can make a small chicken pot pie or try the barefoot contessa's veg. pot pie.

Bread pudding for one...with real butter. That's my vote.

Oh, no. Back injury? I'm so sorry to hear that! But what a cute little get-well present. :) Hope everything is feeling better (I'm a back injury sufferer myself, and in a flare-up now, so feel (a little) of your pain.)
